Spending the day fishing with his son in Silver City, NM, Officer Shannon heard a man calling for help in the middle of the lake. Seeing that a man’s boat had capsized and the man was now barely staying afloat in the cold water, Shannon took off his clothes, jumped in to the icy waters, and swam out to the struggling boater. He brought the boater and boat safely back to shore.
