Field Training Officer Doug Richards

When driving home from his shift in the early morning hours, Officer Richards came across a car in Mount Pleasant, SC that had just been in an accident and was now starting to burn. He pulled over, grabbed the fire extinquisher from his car, and started putting out the engine fire. It was then that he realized that the driver was still inside, trapped beneath the steering wheel. He calmed her down then called the fire department and EMS, before helping to extricate her from the burning vehicle.
