Captain Curtis Rust

On his way to work an off-duty job, Captain Rust overheard a call about an 18 wheeler that had just gotten into an accident in a residential neighborhood in Clifton, TX. He immediately turned around and headed to the site of the accident, where he found the driver passed out and with no pulse. Along with the officers who had been called to the scene, Rust pulled the trucker from his vehicle, opened the driver’s airway, and administered CPR until the paramedics arrived. The driver, who probably had a heart attack while driving, started breathing again after about an hour.
