On his day off, Lieutenant Roybal took his family shopping at a mall in Albuquerque, NM. While there, a number of teenage boys ran past them, followed by a bystander yelling that they were armed. Telling his family to take cover, he chased them out of the mall, even after shots were fired. Fortunately, no one was injured and the teenagers later turned themselves in to police.
